Programmable Oral Wearable Systems

The delivery vehicle
has been hiding
in plain sight.

Millions of dental appliances are fabricated every year. Mouthguards. Whitening trays. Retainers. Night guards. Every one of them is passive — a delivery vehicle with no payload.

The mouth offers one of the most richly vascularised mucosal surfaces in the body — and a custom-fitted appliance rests against it for two to eight hours per session. No one has ever put that interface to work.

Until now.

The Platform

One platform.
Every oral surface.
Infinite applications.

Infusedsys has developed a programmable active-delivery system that uses the custom dental appliance — already in 300 million mouths a year — as the delivery vehicle. The appliance loads with active compounds and releases them continuously during wear: electrolytes for an athlete, peroxide for a whitening tray, fluoride and antimicrobials for an overnight preventive appliance.

When depleted, the patient soaks the appliance overnight in a concentrated Recharge sachet. Repeat. Indefinitely. The appliance is the hardware. The sachet is the subscription. The mouth is the delivery interface.

The platform's central insight is a materials decision: the polymer matrix is matched to the polarity of the compounds it has to carry. Hydrophilic polymers for the polar actives that dominate sport, endurance and whitening. Medical-grade silicone for the one product where the dominant active is hydrophobic. Every appliance shares the same recharge mechanic, the same loading philosophy, and the same patient routine — wear, rinse, soak, repeat.

Programmable Delivery
The polymer matrix is matched to the polarity of the compounds it carries. Hydrophilic TPU for the polar electrolytes and glucose in Sport and Endurance. A peroxide-stable hydrogel for White. Silicone for the one product where the dominant active is hydrophobic. One platform architecture — every product configured to its actives.

Rechargeable by Design
Fickian diffusion works in both directions. The same physics that releases compounds during wear reloads the appliance from a concentrated sachet. No battery. No electronics. Pure materials chemistry.
Indefinite reuse
03
Razor / Razorblade Economics
The device is the entry point. The monthly Recharge sachet is the business. 85%+ gross margins on consumables. 6–12× subscription valuation multiples versus hardware alone. Recurring revenue from day one.

The Product Suite — Four Appliances and a Companion Paste

Infused Sport
A custom contact-sport mouthguard meeting AS/NZS 4480.1 — built as a hydrophilic-polymer monolith — that releases electrolytes, glucose and supporting actives throughout 80–90 minutes of match play. Available also as Sport Go: a direct-to-consumer boil-and-bite version.
Infused Endurance
A symmetric skinned hydrophilic-polymer appliance for non-contact endurance — cycling, running, ultras, triathlon — delivering electrolytes, glucose and dietary nitrate continuously over 2.5–3 hours. A dual-arch Pro Dual variant extends the window further.
Infused Shield
An overnight medical-grade silicone appliance delivering five preventive actives — sodium fluoride, xylitol, zinc citrate, farnesol and nano-hydroxyapatite — over 6–8 hours of sleep. Available with fluoride (Recharge F) or as a clinically complete fluoride-free variant (Recharge Pure).
Infused White
Geometric isolation whitening. A three-layer custom tray with a peroxide-stable hydrogel reservoir and a precision window inset 1–1.5 mm from the gingival margin. Clinical-concentration peroxide on the enamel — sealed away from the gingiva and from salivary catalase — in-surgery and take-home, prescribed as one system.
Infused Purify
A supporting companion paste — SLS-free, fluoride-free, nano-hydroxyapatite remineralising. Used as the two-minute pre-insertion brushing step before Shield, and standalone in the fluoride-free toothpaste segment in pharmacy and retail.

Category Spotlight — Infused White

Whitening's weakest step,
designed out.

In-chair whitening is high-margin and acutely technique-sensitive. Every session depends on hand-applied gingival isolation — slow, fiddly, and the single point of failure. A gap in the barrier and clinical-concentration peroxide reaches the gum. Infused White replaces hand technique with geometry: a custom appliance defines the whitening zone itself. Painting through a stencil with a sponge — nothing bleeds past the line.

Isolation built into the hardware unlocks more than a cleaner procedure. The take-home appliance is pre-charged — one step, no loose gel, no clean-up — so patients actually wear it, and consistent wear is what produces the result. And because the active phase no longer needs the chair, one clinician can run several whitening cases in parallel.

Better procedure. Better compliance. Better clinic economics. Delivered as one prescribed system — in-surgery and take-home together.

Biologically plausible.
Mechanistically
grounded.

The platform is built on published, peer-reviewed evidence across multiple adjacent scientific disciplines. Platform feasibility is established. Clinical performance will be validated in the Phase 1 Shute Shield study.

Early-stage platform funded on plausibility, IP position, market opportunity, and execution capability — not completed clinical proof.

Drug-eluting polymers are established medicine — silicone implants (NuvaRing, Nexplanon, Ozurdex), hydrophilic-TPU drug-eluting devices and hydrogel-based delivery systems are decades-old commercial technology. Infusedsys applies them to custom dental appliances for the first time.
Matrix-by-polarity selection rule — hydrophilic polymers (TPU, PVP) for the polar actives that dominate sport, endurance and whitening; medical-grade silicone for the one product where the dominant active is hydrophobic. Documented design history supports non-obviousness.
CMR performance effect — meta-analysis of 16 RCTs confirms 2–3% time-trial improvement from oral carbohydrate receptor stimulation. fMRI-validated neural mechanism. Effect is from oral exposure, not GI delivery — the precise mechanism the platform exploits.
NaF in silicone dental appliance — Sichuan University, January 2025: non-cytotoxic sustained 28-day release, improved enamel hardness, antibacterial activity against S. mutans. Independent academic proof-of-concept for Shield.
Farnesol anti-S. mutans — formulated farnesol produces 3-log CFU reduction in biofilm via membrane proton-permeability disruption. β-cyclodextrin/farnesol complexation efficiency 73–74% confirmed; antibacterial activity preserved post-complexation.
scCO₂ polymer loading — solvent-free, mild-temperature (31–40 °C) impregnation of cured medical polymers with active compounds. Established pharmaceutical process; manufacturing partner approaches under way.
